Sending All Our Love to Texas

This post has been a long time coming, but it’s taken us awhile to find the words to express what we’ve been feeling since reading all the news about Hurricane Harvey. We’ve been keeping up with the updates as best we can, but even still it’s been hard to connect with everything going on at home while being so far away. Words just haven’t seemed sufficient enough, but we wanted to take some time today to focus on our beloved home state and all the people who were affected.
We are truly heartbroken at the devastation in Houston and along the coast. We have family in Houston (who are thankfully okay) and priceless memories that centered around the beautiful beaches and quirky shops of Port Aransas. Seeing photos of the houses and shops that were destroyed and reading the stories of all the families that have been displaced has reminded us of how everything can change in an instant – for better or worse. Our hearts have been heavy knowing that so many lives were uprooted and drastically changed.
If we know one thing for sure it’s that Texans are resilient and determined, so we are confident everyone will come out of this stronger than they were before. You can bet we’ll be lending our hands to any cause we can to help rebuild when we’re back state-side. For now, we are sending all of our love, our positive thoughts, and our prayers to everyone who was directly or indirectly affected, and to the beautiful state we are so lucky to call home.
We love you all to the moon and back.
